Exception Property (OperationResult)

Property Value

Null reference if the operation has succeeded, or a non-null System.Exception if the operation has failed.
Remarks

If you only need to test that the operation has succeeded, you can also use the Succeeded property.

This property is not serialized into XML. Instead, ErrorMessage is serialized. Deserializing from XML creates a base Exception object with just the message.
