Property Value

Setting this property to true has effect only when the current process is running in user interactive mode.

Following paragraphs apply only to certificates generated using the OPC Foundation .NET stack.

The actual user interaction controlled by this parameter is performed by a code in OPC UA Configuration Library. As such, it does not have the same visual appearance and behavior as user interface provided by the component itself. Specifically, the dialogs do not have timeouts associated with them. This means that the current activity can be blocked for extended periods of time, or even indefinitely.

The situations in which the user interaction controlled by this parameter happens are quite rare. Following dialogs or message boxes can appear when this parameter is set to true:

• Any errors encountered while loading the SDK application configuration (this does not normally happen, because the SDK application configuration is preloaded by the component).
• User confirmation required to update the application own certificate when the key size in the current certificate is less than the required minimum key size.
• Only for applications that are not just OPC UA clients, but also OPC UA servers: User confirmation required to update the application own certificate when the server is configured to use a domain which does not appear in the current certificate.
• User confirmation required to update the application own certificate when the current certificate does not specify the application URI.

This method or property does not throw any exceptions, aside from execution exceptions such as System.Threading.ThreadAbortException or System.OutOfMemoryException.
